Identity Theft - Phishing Alert
type of Internet scam like phishing is found all over the world quite often. We have decided to give some useful recommendations to save you from unpleasant situations and, sometimes, financial problems.
How does phishing work?
Identity theft can be committed in many different ways. Every day Internet phishers come up with new methods, which makes it difficult to effectively develop countermeasures and to combat them.
Phishing is done via: email or other means (email, fax, phone etc.). Theft is considered to be committed when another person uses another person's or company's personal or professional information without their consent, for the purpose of fraudulent activity. It can be such information as: name, e-mail address, personal information, passwords and access to different banking and payment systems. From phishing affects both individuals and large companies. A user receives an email that is hard to distinguish from an official one sent by another person or company. Usually this email address is very similar to the official one, making it hard to detect phishing scams.
